Water Recapture & Filtration

Our engineers customize greenhouse water treatment systems based on the source water quality, the desire to reclaim or recycle water, the type of fertigation and irrigation required and the option for oxygen enhancement.

Water Systems for Cannabis Grows

Water Treatment System

Water treatment systems are designed to treat influent water, optimize growing conditions and produce healthy plants, and treat effluent water to meet discharge regulations.

Water Reclamation System

Water reclamation systems are designed to help conserve water, reduce costs, optimize nutrient use, and eliminate wastewater disposal requirements.

Water Recycling/Reclamation

Recapturing and recycling water in a grow facility is going to be a lot more effective with a sealed greenhouse—as transpired water is not lost to the atmosphere. That said, there are systems one can put in place no matter the facility or greenhouse type.

  1. Rainwater catchment– the collection of rainwater for irrigation use
  2. HVACD condensate recapture– the collection of condensate from HVACD equipment
  3. Irrigation leachate recapture– the collection of water that was not absorbed by the plant after watering
  4. Washdown recapture– the collection of water used initially for cleaning, and other gray water

Water Recycling/Reclamation

We will design and integrate the necessary water treatment systems per each clients needs and budget. Water treatment systems include:

  1. Physical remediation– a physical mode of action for treating water. An important pre-treatment for the other technologies listed below. This includes (but is not limited to): particle filtration, carbon filtration and reverse osmosis purification
  2. Chemical remediation– disinfection using chemical compounds. Some examples include: ozone disinfection, chlorine disinfection and pH adjustment
  3. Biological remediation-used to remediate effluent, and in particular pesticides, sanitizers, nitrogen and phosphorous. Examples of this include: vegetated buffers, constructed wetlands, and wood chip bioreactors
